A Thai study published in the Journal of Diabetes Care found that curcumin, a compound in tumeric, may reduce patients’ risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Patients with pre-diabetes assigned to curcumin took 6 capsules of ‘curcuminoids’ a day and after 9 months, 0 patients out of 119 patients progressed to type 2 diabetes while 19 out of 116 patients taking placebo did.
