What Is the ‘Best Diet’ for You?

US News ranked the top 28 diets (e.g., Jenny Craig, Atkins, Slim Fast, Weight Watchers), selecting the DASH diet (Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension) to be the overall winner.  The DASH diet was initially created with the main goal to help lower high blood pressure, but not weight. US News used several categories – best weight-loss diet, best diabetes diet and best plant based diet.  Some of the other top diets according to the survey are TLC diet, Weight Watchers, Biggest Loser, Jenny Craig, Raw Food Diet, Ornish Diet, Mediterranean and Flexitarian Diet. The US News conclusion – there is no single perfect diet, after consulting with their physician each patient will have to select the diet that suits their needs best.  What are your thoughts and recommendations?
